In the beginning there was ... Roby 1

Hi everyone, it's been quiet here for a while. I've been working on financing my first robot. Well... Good news. I've finally managed it and placed a order for some parts in China. I got the most of the parts of a site called AliExpress. Some really good prices if you let your fingers do the walking.

I've just pre-ordered two TI ARM boards, for a grand total of US$9.98 including free shipping - about NZ$7 each.  They will be shipping from the end of month, so it's not that long to wait. If you want one or two, get yours at https://estore.ti.com/Stellaris-LaunchPad.aspx while the special lasts.

If you really want to know what you will get for $7 the two page data sheet at http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/spmt273a/spmt273a.pdf, or the even quicker summary is 80MHz ARM, 256kB FLASH, 32kB of SRAM, 43 pins of GPIO. Programs over USB so no extra programmer is required.

If you have nothing better to do while you wait, 1,200+ pages of documentation for the controller at http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm4f120h5qr.pdf

As soon as I get my goodies I'll let you guys know and I'll start the building process.
Can't wait!
